I started a new blog which discusses life as I see it now, through puva goggles.  I have been diagnosed with a rare incurable cancer, cutaneous t-cell lymphoma (non-hodgkins lymphoma)

Included on this new site, is a place for you to sign up so that you may receive email alerts as I post new articles.   This new site is an open forum, so please don’t hesitate to leave your foot prints!

My life has changed quite a bit,  “Seeing Life through my PUVA Googles“.

More on this later.  I need to come out of denial first.

Raamah & Cyrus, I am soo happy to be your mom.  You bring such joy to my life; I couldn’t imagine my life without you both.  Thank you for the beautiful tulips – thank you for such a beautiful day!

Happy Mother’s Day to you all out there – may your today, tomorrow, and everyday thereafter be full of happiness and joy.  Enjoy and be still in every moment you are given with your children.

Enjoy your day!

All my love – Raquel

North Carolina is calling it – Obama won.  NC polls closed 43 minutes ago – is it too early?  Our fingers are crossed!

Aunts-for-Obama

writers block - agh!

 Can’t focus…can’t write…want to write…what to write…so much happening where to start…

Ok – lets start here…

1.  Just read an article about a woman in Austria who had been held prisoner by her father for 24 years and fathered his 7 children.  She had been held captive since she was 11.   What?

2. Hilla the Hun wants to debate with Obama without a moderator – Lincoln/Douglas style?  AGH -

3. Ex-husbands killing their children and ex-wives because they can’t get their way?

4.  Was wearing shorts yesterday and complained about how hot it was; headed out to the grocery store this a.m. wearing shorts only to realize I needed my wool coat and snow boots?  Air conditioner? Heater? Air conditioner? Heater?

5. Filled the gas tank for 3.63 a gallon?  Took my son shopping, men’s clothing and children clothing cost the same now?   Bulk shopping costs are lower but we end up wasting more?

6. Lifetime channel aired movies yesterday dealing with natural disaster – um, what happened to the cheating husband movies, the lying wife movies?

7. What’s with all these pharmaceutical  commercials with the list of 20 side effects? Does a man take Viagara and not worry about going blind?

8. Had a root canel done and fell asleep during the procedure?  Have promised myself to take better care of me and my teeth – root canels suck!

9. Hybrid SUV’s?  That sounds wrong.

Can you tell I’m not in a pleasant mood today?

Okay so on a more pleasant note, I changed my header pic to a pic of me running on the beach, wearing my Gucci sunglasses .  I went on vacation with my family recently, to the beach, and WOW what a great time we all had.  If you’re reading this, dear family members, lets do that again REALLY soon PLEASE!

Obama for President

What did you think of Britney’s performance tonight?

Take My Poll

8:30 tonight on CBS, Brintey Spears makes her debut on How I Met Your Mother.  Britney plays a receptionist, Abby, who becomes smitten with Ted (Josh Radnor).  I’ll be checking this out – will you?

 Eat lots!

cyrus-thksgiving.jpgI know you hate it when I call you by all those “silly” nicknames (Pumpkin Lumpkin, Cutie-pa-tootie, Baby Boy, Honey Bunny – just to name a few). I love you sooo much Cyrus and I am sooo happy and proud of you in soo many ways. Today you turn 12 and I am just soo amazed of how much you have grown! Know always how much I love you! Have the bestest birthday ever Doodle Bug!

Love always,

Mommy

jpeg_writ_prompt.jpgHmmmm – this is a tough one.

Ok – let me start off by saying that I have begun reading A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which is also this month’s Oprah book. Also, Oprah and the author have begun discussing it live on the Internet Monday nights. As I read and study this book, I have noticed a significant change in my perception – a shift in the way I think.

What I have learned so far is that we must change our state of consciousness. The author states that to change the state of the world we live in takes a collective conscious awakening.  If everyone were to think more in a “positive” manner, the world as we know it will change – becoming a perfect world.

But what exactly is a “perfect world”. Is it a place where we know no evil, where love conquers all? My thinking is that if we didn’t know un-perfect, how would we know that which is perfect. For me perhaps a “perfect world” is a world of acceptance of differences. Differences of opinions; differences of races; differences of political views, etc. A perfect world is no more than a way of thinking. It’s living in the now, not worrying, not fearing, not having anxieties. Being able to accept my mistakes and that of others without criticism and harsh words. I could take the perspective of a dreamer and say, a perfect world knows no evil, has flowers blooming everyday, people are always happy. But really that could get old and besides this only happens in the land of make believe.

What do you think? How would you describe a perfect world? Are you reading this book too?

writer-block-2.jpg

What exactly is writer’s block? It is a phenomenon involving temporary loss of ability to begin or continue writing, usually due to lack of inspiration or creativity.

When did you get it? Mid January based on my last entry.

How did you “catch” writer’s block? Yo no se.

What is the treatment? There are many suggestions on how to get the juices flowing. The one I find most appealing is writing prompts – these are brain joggers. There are many websites out there geared just to writing prompts. Also, Google trends is a good resource. It pretty much outlines the top search terms in real time. I’ve used this a lot. The key to treatment is remaining inspired to perform creative acts.

What’s next? To keep on blogging. Folks are reading my stuff, so I must continue to write. Check me out tomorrow as I post and respond to a “writing prompt”.
